Zaycon Food's signature event is back- the fresh, natural, hormone-free chicken is just $1.89/lb! Or, if you purchased the beef, you'll only pay $1.49/lbs!  It comes unfrozen in a 40-lb box. How it works is you place your order and pay for it, then pick it up at one of several locations across Utah on the designated pick-up day.

Order now for pickup in early October.

Jessica has posted before about what she did with her 40-lb box of chicken~ you can read it here.  Here's a run-down of how the chicken looks when you pick it up.

Inside the 40-lb box there are 4 large bags of chicken. Each contain roughly 8 chicken breasts. The chicken pieces vary in size somewhat, but most could be classified as very large.

Each 40-lb unit costs $75.60 + tax, which breaks down to just $1.89 per pound. The chicken is trimmed somewhat, but you to go through and trim it a bit more carefully. It's certainly trimmed much more than the inexpensive chicken at the grocery store though. It's 100 % natural chicken with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients. It comes directly from the processor and has never been frozen. Most of the chicken I purchase is natural, however I think the Zaycon chicken tastes so good because it's just so fresh.

I highly recommend the Zaycon chicken! You can purchase a 40-lb box right now for $75.60, which is $1.89 per pound. They sell out every time, so I'd place an order sooner than later!

In the past they've held the chicken sale just twice a year, but it looks like they'll be selling it 3x a year now. Order now for pickup in early February, then they'll also have a sale in June and likely, October. This is great for those of us who normally would order more than 1 case but can't because they're out of freezer space. (anyone else?!)

I've purchased their chicken several times now and LOVE it. I've posted before about what I did with my 40-lb box of chicken~ you can read it here.  Here's a run-down of how the chicken looks when you pick it up.

My favorite way to use a majority of the chicken is to trim it, then cut each breast in half. Arrange pieces in a single layer on a large jelly roll pan. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and dot with either butter or dashes of olive oil and onions/ onion powder. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool, then dice chicken and measure out 3 cups into a freezer ziplock bag. The tray yields about 5-6 dinners and the diced chicken is perfect for use in soups, casseroles, in burritos, etc!

That's it! I highly recommend the Zaycon chicken! You can purchase a 40-lb box right now for $75.60, which is $1.89 per pound. They sell out every time, so I'd place an order sooner than later!
