Me and some friends were in charge of Refreshments last night at our Church Christmas Party. Our Hot Cocoa Bar was a HIT and I wanted to share it with you. It will make a great addition to any holiday party!
We found this Homemade, Crock Pot, Hot Cocoa recipe here from One Good Thing by Jillee. It was sooo yummy! Like drinking liquid chocolate! We made 3 batches for 25 people and could have gotten away with doing just 2 batches (left overs this morning were yummy though!)
Crock Pot Hot Cocoa by One Good Thing by Jillee
6 Cups Milk
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 1/2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream (I used the whole pint size container, 2 cups)
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
2 cups Chocolate Chips
Place all ingredients in your crock pot on low for at least 2 hours. Whisk together occasionally to blend melted chocolate chips.
Chocolate Dipped Spoons: My friend made these and they turned out so cute! She melted Milk Chocolate Chips and White Chocolate Chips and dipped the spoons. Some were sprinkled with Candy Cane sprinkles and others with little Snowmen made out of out of marshmallows! So cute!
Cocoa Bar Toppings: This is the fun part and you can get as creative as you like. Here a list of things to get your creative juices flowing
Flavored Marshmallows (we found peppermint and pumpkin flavor!)
White Chocolate Chips
Nestle Delightfuls (cherry, raspberry, caramel)
Crushed Oreos (mint variety is yummy)
Crushed Hershey's Cookie and Cream candy bar
Crushed Candy Cane
Chopped Ande's Mints
Chopped Lindor Truffles (peppermint ones…..so yummy!)
I also found some mini candy canes at the Dollar Store and we hung them on the cups for a nice decorative touch!
