I've told you about the NPS store a few weeks ago, today I want to tell you about Clem's! Have you been to Clem's? Like any other close-out store, Clem's is full of “last chance” merchandise that's close to expiration, has been discontinued, or in some instances, damaged in some way. It's somewhat of a hole-in-the-wall place, but for bargain shoppers, it can be a lot of fun!
Some examples of items I've found are: a microfiber mop (in perfect condition!) for $2, a giant bottle of Kirkland fabric softener (222 loads!) for $4, and a 48- cup case of Dannon yogurt (exp was in 10 days) for $3!
Wednesdays and Fridays are “produce days” where they get large shipments of fresh foods. The truck comes at about noon, so plan on being there early afternoon to get the best selection. I've gone at about 4:30 before and it was packed! Their produce is very inexpensive though, and most items are still good for several days. The above pic is what I bought a few weeks ago. I paid $6 for everything- 1 bunch of cilantro, 2 yellow squash, 10 plums, a large bag of broccoli, 3 lbs red potatoes, 1 Santa Cruz melon and a head of iceberg lettuce. Prices vary, as do the produce items they carry, but I regularly see items for about 1/3 the retail price. Last week I got a huge bag of washed & cut spinach for $1. I've made several meals with it and there's still some left!
If you're looking to stretch your grocery budget and don't mind discount stores, then stop by Clem's and see what you can find!
Clem's is located at 1881 S. Redwood Road in Woods Cross.

I agree they do have fantastic prices and good produce. The one down fall is the rude people who shop there. OMG nasty, pushy, customers. If you can handle that then it's worth the bargains. Myself I go on the off days for safety reasons. The women cashier is rather nasty herself. God forbid if she'd ever crack a smile. If you ask her a question she might bite your head off. Seriously……
Great bargains awful customer service and some damn scary customers.
