I'm looking for a news paper subscription. Do you know about a good deal going on? Or would you recommend me to wait for a good deal?

I've noticed you haven't posted your monthly food budget for a while. I'm just curious to know if you've still been able to keep it around $200 or $300 (not sure what you had it at the last time you posted it). We're a family of almost 7!, just like you and we're topping out at $700/month which includes all our toiletries. It doesn't include eating out and we don't do that much (the hubby and kids all take cold lunches).

I cook most meals from scratch, we don't do cold cereal but I do have a few "must haves" like chicken nuggets, frozen pizza and frozen burritos that help keep me sane. We eat them all sparingly but I cannot figure out how to lower my monthly budget without sacrificing healthy eating – like fresh fruits and veggies.

I did the couponing thing for a while and have stopped. Now I just shop straight from Costco with their coupon booklet. I only hit the store twice a month which is what I like but maybe I'm sacrificing a lot by shopping there. I'll do a Wal-Mart run about once a month only to get things that Costco doesn't carry. I'm spending the same that I was couponing.

Anyway, thanks for your blog and your ideas.

We know everyone thinks they have a great story….We really do! We are one of the last working ranches in Salt Lake City, come see how we keep it alive. We have 300 head of cattle that live on the soon to be a prison location. We are 6th generation farmers and ranchers, and are hosting our first Fall Festival in October. We are very excited to welcome the public to a real working ranch, to see our animals and take a wagon ride, enjoy or hay mazes and kids play area. We would love to have your family come out and see what we have to offer families. Please considers us for one of you positive upbeat stories, you won’t be disappointed and neither will your followers.

    Hi Janica,

I have a question about subscribe and save. When I click on the “edit” button on the item I have in my list it shows the regular price, not the price it was on sale for when I put it in my list. For example, the grapefruit soaps you had on your site. I used your link, clipped the coupon and added it to my list. But now when I click on it it says it’s $16. Is it going to charge me what it was when I added it to my list or what it is showing now and how do I find out?

      Hi Kelly,

I have noticed that too. I am not sure why it does that, but rest assured, you will get charged the exact price that it showed you when you first signed up for the subscription. On your orders page, it won’t even reflect the coupon savings, but it does come off! But keep in mind, that savings is only for your very first subscription. So make sure if you don’t want to pay whatever price it will be when your subscription time comes around again, that you do go in to your orders and cancel it. Does that answer your question?

Yes! So they are still $20 per paper per year. On the top menu bar of my site, click on “newspaper deal” and then click on the link in the post, and then you can buy it right online with my group discount.

Hi, I am a kid in need of a teacher. I haven’t taken my coupons to a store yet, just cause I want to make sure I do it right. Always wanted to make a stockpile for the next zombie apocalypse and of course save money. ;-P However, when I look coupon fine print and store policies, it feels impossible to use ten manufacture and store coupons for ten of the same product. I wish I could be a apprentice to a master for a day or two. Please, how is it done?

Hi Angelica! Your comment made me laugh. 🙂 Where are you located? I teach classes every once in a while. I may be able to set one up near you.

I am so sorry for your loss! I can’t imagine what you are going through. Maybe you or someone could put up a banner letting people know you will be taking a break for awhile, so people don’t expect you to post all of the time.
