Don’t ever let anyone tell you there is nothing to do in Utah on the 4th of July! Here is a list of fun events around Utah in honor of the 4th of July! Thanks Fabulously Free Utah!
Park City 4th of July Celebration
Start with a 7:00 am Pancake Breakfast in City Park, work it off at the Cole Sport 5k Fun Run. And then all day at City Park participate in Rugby games, live music, BBQ. At 11:00 hit the Famous 4th of July Parade with over 70 floats celebrating Park City’s history including the Air Force Fly Over. For kids, check out the 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm Celebration in City Park full of food, live music, beer garden, games and children’s activities. As for entertainment, don’t miss Motherload Canyon Band,Austin Wolfe/Mere Image, The Codi Jordan Band, Sin City Soul. Then, don’t miss the fireworks at Park City Mountain Resort.
Sandy City Celebration
Everything from a Flag raising to a 10k. From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm check out the Youth Arts Festival. If you have a budding police officer on your hands, check out the Sandy Police activities at the South Towne Promenade, including K9 Demonstrations and Sandy SWAT. If they are more firefighter inclined, check out the Family Fire Safety Trailer or check out the Life Flight Helicopter from 2:00 to 4:00. And all day long check out the inflatables and kids activities. Lots and lots of live entertainment, all topped off by a fireworks display, beginning at 10:00.
Murray Fun Days
If you are a parade lover, you have your pick! Murray Fun Days parade begins at 8:30 am and goes from 6100 South on State Street going north to Vine Street. Turn right at Vine Street down to 330 East Vine to Murray Park Entrance, turn right into Murray Park and through Murray Park and conclude at the west end of the park.
Salt Lake City’s Independence Day Celebration – a tradition on SLC’s west-side. Salt Lake City’s annual 4th of July celebration will celebrate Independence Day in style with FIREWORKS!
As always it will be a patriotic neighborhood party on Salt Lake City’s west-side.
Holladay Fun Festival
The Holladay Fun Festival begins with a Children’s Parade at 8:30 am which begins at Pine Park (2120 E 4500 S). We invite everyone to come out to the 4th of July events. Spectators are welcomed and encouraged at the bike race, it really is amazing to watch. If possible please plan to walk or ride your bikes to the 4th of July events. 2300 E will be limited to northbound traffic only from 9:30am-3:00pm. Holladay Boulevard between Laney Avenue and 4500 South will be closed for the Bike Criterium and for the evening Fireworks display, which will begin at 10:10 pm.
The event features live music, food vendors, a children’s area, and, of course, a variety of arts and crafts booths. The even runs from 11:00 to 7 pm at 2100 S. Highland Drive.
Beginning at noon, vendors will set up in Sugarhouse park, along with an inflatable playground. Live music begins at 4:00 and runs all day until 9:30, and the Fireworks display begins at 10:00.
The Canyons has a huge celebration planned for the 3rd. The Cabriolet lift opens at 9:00 and runs all day and the Gondola runs after 3:00. The Kid’s Bike Parade begins at 3:30. Decorate your bicycle (and yourself!) with red, white and blue flair to celebrate with a mini-parade in the Resort Village. Please meet in front of Canyons H.R. office to participate. Led by Murdock the Moose, the route will run around the pavement circle in the Resort Village and pass by The Farm and Grand Summit Hotel, finishing at the Orange Bubble Express chair lift.
From 4:00 to 7:00 there will be face painting and carnival games in the Resort Village, followed by a magician at 5:00. The Soulistics show will begin at 7:30 on the Mountain Stage. The fireworks display will begin at 9:30. Blankets, picnics and chairs are allowed starting at 3:00pm. Low back chairs are allowed, but camping chairs, chairs with sharp legs and chairs with greater height than 9” are not allowed. Chairs meeting the height requirements are available for purchase at Canyon Mountain Sports.
